Hello, I’m glad you found us!

My passion is, and always has been empowering people to maximize their quality of life.  Since earning my doctorate in 2015, I have integrated a broad collection of technical and social skills that enable me to help people experience life-altering change.  This is especially true for people who have lost hope after years of working with one healthcare provider after another; often with minimal or temporary improvement.

After graduating from Clarkston, Washington’s Charles Francis Adams High School in 2008, I attended Washington State University on a academic and leadership scholarship.  There, while playing beach volleyball, I met my beautiful wife-to-be.  After finishing our undergraduate education, we both pursued our doctorates: hers in veterinary medicine and mine in physical therapy from Eastern Washington University.

In 2015 we began our careers in Klamath Falls, Oregon. The community and outdoor opportunities were excellent. However, the distance from family was too much. So, in 2018 we moved to Spokane Valley, Washington. Living here, we are within a couple hours drive from parents siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

While I am a big fan of Star Wars and playing board games, my wife and I both enjoy hiking, camping and kayaking. We have two Australian shepherds, Theo and Aayla, who enjoy hitting the trails and the lakes as well. My favorite hobby, however, is fly-fishing. Growing up, my family would go camping and fishing in Montana nearly every summer. At home we even have a picture on our wall of 3-year-old me with my first fish, caught with a stick-pole.

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, physical therapy clinics, like the one I was working at in Liberty Lake, had a hard time making ends meet. My coworkers were concerned what unemployment would mean for them financially. So, when my boss was forced to make cuts, I volunteered. After a short period of not working with patients, I learned several very important lessons. The first was that, as much as I enjoy fly-fishing, I am even more passionate about helping people maximize their quality of life, especially through my training as a physical therapist. Secondly, I realized just how much the in-network system can undervalue quality outcomes. So, I decided to join a growing movement of healthcare professionals who work for their patients, not insurance companies… and Own Your Health Physiotherapy was born.

I knew early on I would someday own or manage my own practice. As a student, however, I was naïve to the impact insurance companies have on healthcare in the United States. Thus, I could not imagine a practice that provides the type of value Own Your Health Physiotherapy does.

Not only does Own Your Health Physiotherapy circumvent the headaches insurance companies can cause, we also believe putting patient results first is a sustainable way of doing business. In other words, we do not schedule unnecessary appointments. We also refer clients to outside provider if that is in our client’s best interest.

Our commitment is to help you connect with the specialists who best fit your priorities regarding quality, convenience, and cost, even if that means sending your business elsewhere. I’m told this model is foolish. After-all, why send money out the door? While prioritizing our client’s needs above our bottom line may cost us money in the short-term, we believe earning your trust will pay dividends in the long run. And so, I invite you to let us help you own your health, by delivering clear and efficient results for your specific needs.
