Bloomsday PSA
Bloomsday is almost here! For many, this Sunday will be a brutal reminder that our bodies don’t do well going from 0 to 60… or in this case 0 to 7.46 miles. If you’ve been training, Bloomsday will be a reward for investing in yourself. If you haven’t, and you run it anyway, it may be the start of nagging pain that just doesn’t seem to want to go away. If you find yourself in this boat, know you are in good company. Also, realize that this nagging pain is a sign that the increased milage of Bloomsday was likely just the final “bale of straw” on the proverbial camel’s back. You likely had several compensation patterns that should be addressed as well. At Dotson Physiotherapy, we can help you learn to not only listen to your body, but also to address the root causes of aches and pains that get in the way of you enjoying life to its fullest. If you want to learn more about listening to your body when it’s talking to you, see these posts: Oil Change Needed and Dirty Dishes. If you’ve tried physical therapy, massage therapy, chiropractic, etc. before and it just hasn’t done the trick, learn more about finding a gifted provider in these blogs: How Big is Your Puzzle?, Art and Craft, and More than Just a Burger.
Or, you can schedule a free Health and Goals Strategy Session as a first step towards finding a provider who can help you “own your health.”
